Questions for all the Ebayers out there!

I decided to screw the boards, and I'm selling my collection on Ebay. Except I've never actually *sold* on Ebay, and the last thing I bought was a bull whip last year (don't ask ( Read more... )

Uh, $8.95 would be a hell of a lot of shipping for one pony.

The fees aren't *bad* per say. They're going to make you pay for listing the item, then take a percentage out of whatever the final value winds up being. Then you've got Paypal fees to deal with. It does start to add up though. :(

Why not try hosting your own auction on the boards? Set a time to start, a time they'll end, an opening price and see what happens for 7-10 days. That way you avoid ebay all together. :)

I wanted to sell on the boards, but I didn't even get a spam comment on my MOC babies. Figured I'd just go to ebay and get it over with. And I'm selling them in lots, there's some 300+ ponies. They'll probably go in lots of 10 for adults, and 15 or so for babies.

Hey! First, are your auctions for multiple ponies? Otherwise people probably won't bid with shipping that high. Second, the fees vary based on what you do. I usually only post one picture (one is free) and don't add any flashy special stuff to catch attention, cause that is extra, too. Secondly, the lower you start the auction at the lower the fee, but this can bite you in the butt if it ends at a low price cause then you don't make your money! You can put a reserve price on it, but that is about .35 and that can add up. They also take a percent from your ending price. All in all, though, for stuff like ponies an auction costs about a dollar or less. Not bad. Good luck with it!

The auctions will be in lots...don't have time to list some 300+ ponies by themselves, lol.

Do you have set prices in your head, or are you just hoping for some money ( ... )

Forgot to add...make sure your board name is in your auctions (or just make a new selling ID that is your board name) so people know it's you. You're a well-respected community member and people know you won't flake out on the shipping. If your ID doesn't have much feedback, that will really help.

Yeah my Ebay ID is Lilithdrff like everywhere else, but I think I only have like 20-something feedbacks, I used to only buy on Ebay, and that stopped a while ago. Not counting all the fuckers that never left me feedback too ( ... )

I do not think $8.95 is too much shipping on the lots of ponies, but if you decide to sell the MOC ones individually then that's too much shipping for one pony. Maybe if you put them in groups of two (depends on how many you have) then the $8.95 shipping would still be okay.

*hugs*

I'd offer to list for you but it would be a pain to get the ponies down here. :(

Keep hanging in there.

I only have 2 MOC G1's, so they will go as a pair. I have MIB G3's that will go in sets of 3's (that's how many I can fit in the box without squashing them).

I just feel so blah, and I've been listening to too much Everclear and Garbage.
