I need to stop posting entries early in the morning. My brain does now work and I seem to use the same three words over and over. I've already composed an e-mail and posted to myspace. I went to a poetry reading at the Columbia Museum of Art last night. Poet Li Young-Lei was giving a reading. The man has amazing work. He was recently featured on NPR so I was surprised to find him performing in town. Way to go USC. Went with my friends Jason and Chimera. This is nothing new or exciting. It's just a little Monday-day-off ramble. Went to Greensboro (yeah the spelling confuses me too) this weekend for a PPFA conf. Stayed at the "O'Henry", a beautiful 4-Star hotel in the middle of downtown. Named after the writer. Had a meal I couldn't afford - though I did enjoy it - at the ajoining resturant. The South has finally decided to be winter. People come in to the gallery and say "My it's cold." Ok... that's a lie. NO one says that. At least not to me. It's winter people. Cold happens. I slept with an Ugly Doll and a grammer book last night. Earl Grey woke me up by licking my chin. In a verrrrry sleep girl voice I yipped "Did you just LICK my chin? Oh man that's not nice." I think I may have completed my first poem in the longest of times. To write I usually collect bits and pieces of phrases and then sort of glue them together. The poem is about traveling away from yourself to discover who you really are. It sounds deep but there are some really funny lines. I've been making my way through the series "Lost" and "Heros". The reason I choose not to watch tv is completely justified when I see what happens during these viewing sessions. I get REALLY into it. I have always loved this song. Dar Williams came to play at Wells my freshwoman year. I know you aren't going to read it all. The Ohhhhahhhhs are really cheesy but it's a good song. Especially now.
