Jang Bori is Here Ep 44 Highlights

Okay... that was fun and a lot better than “The Secret of the Two Rings”.

Clearly the tide has turned/is turning for MJ. When your once-doting husband who once promised to shower you with an abundance of material goods, manoeuvres to have you cut off from a steady supply of moolah, you know you’re done for.

And then your father-in-law turns up his nose at you with more than a hint of contempt, you know you’re really done for.

Did she get thrown under the bus or did she get thrown under the bus? Talking about backing a bad horse (ie. mother-in-law)

But she’s clutching at every last lifeline. What to do? She’s fighting for whatever’s left of her miserable life.

I can’t say if she’ll end up in the nut house or in the slammer but my feeling is that it probably won’t matter by the time the show gets to Ep. 48 because by then she’ll probably be the most pathetic wretch in all of Bori Bori Land, shedding enough tears to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Does she love JHee? I think the jury’s still out on that one. I think she’s in love with the idea of JHee: good-looking, rich boy with access to a neverending source of dollar bills. Oddly enough she’s an idealist... in the way that anarchists are idealists... I think she really believed that if she got the man that fit her selection criteria that she would be guaranteed lifelong happiness. I don’t think it ever occurred to her how hard it would be to hang on to him afterwards. You can sort of understand her need not to be poor in the early days. Being chased by loan sharks can do that to you. But her solution was to marry into wealth... well... she tried that once... and that was such a huge success so she tried it again. Yup. Talk about learning from your mistakes.

Does JHee love MJ? Well, he says he does and I sort of believe him. Sort of. I think he’s in love with an idealised image of MJ which was largely based on her ability to fabricate a whole life story. Someone who is a victim of the big, bad world like he was. His rationale for rushing headlong into something that seemed like love at the time was “Us dregs need to stick together”

I suppose it’s some kind of consolation that JHwa and Bori (no way!) are enjoying ridiculous amounts of physical intimacy under the covers despite self-imposed restrictions on their sleeping arrangements. While I approve of the fact that they are exercising all manner of ingenuity to provide siblings for Bi Dan in whatever fashion is available to them, Bi Dan is already 5 and is a pretty smart cookie. Surely... she’ll cotton on to mum and dad’s nocturnal activities sooner rather than later.

15 episodes on I’m still rolling my eyes and shaking my head that Bori hasn’t told JHwa the Mother of all secrets. I shouldn’t be surprised but... one does like to hope... I don’t mind her not telling anyone else for all the obvious reasons but now that they’re sharing a roof, a bed and a child together, you’d think that would change the dynamics of their relationship just a tad. He’s adopting her and he doesn’t know? Even Sec. Kang knows.

Anyway, Bi Dan’s true parentage is turning into the worst kept secret of Bori Bori Land. Moony and Bori may as well stand on a soap box with a megaphone and announce it to the rest of Alternate Korea.

Yeah, this show should have been named “Jang Bori has secrets... lots of them”. In that way, I think, she’s definitely the daughter of her mothers.

The thing I really like about JHwa is his boisterous honesty which is at odds with practically everyone around him. He was upset about Moony getting too close to Bori and he said so. He just deals with it and gets it off his chest.

So all that hullaballoo regarding the ring was for naught? So why spend half an episode building it up to have the whole thing fizzle out into more blackmail? Sheesh. We had to forego the honeymoon for that??? C’mon writer... get your priorities right! I'm sure everyone would have rather seen a shirt-free KJH. (Not to mention what that would have done for ratings. Think 40%)

Wow... they are really piling it on with fake mum. She’s paying big time for her sins. A lonely old lady waiting for people to come visit. Wondering if they setting her up to play a part in MJ’s downfall... as part of her atonement?

Well, it’s good to see the men finally take the bull by the horns. Waking up to all the 20 year old secrets... doing some real investigative work, apologize and behave like normal adult males.

And JHee... I really wanted to hit the manover the head with something hard when he said that it was JHwa’s and JHwa’s mother’s fault that she died. Young man, we know that you’re a douchebag already so you really didn’t need to provide more forensic evidence to the fact.
