Mod Post: How Are the Fics Coming Along?

Hey, everyone, I was wondering how those fanfics were coming along for little Jack, the boy who lost his legs and has been confined to a wheelchair?  I've received one (fantastic) preliminary sketch so far, but no fics or any updates on how the fics are coming along.  I know people are busy during the summer, but I don't want the ball being dropped

I started working on an illustration of Jack and the Doctor on Gallifrey but my Mac decided to throw a tantrum and not turn on properly. I hope to get it done soon depending how quickly I can my mac up and running again. *crossing fingers that the tech support guy will be able to fix via phone and won't have to take it in*

Outline is just about done, then I just have to flesh it out! Still working on it, though.

I have to admit, I was kinda waiting to see how other folks were planning on handling this, see if there was any within-the-series fanon to pick up on and incorporate, etc. Which is probably a cop-out. I have a pretty solid plot thought out (well, solid enough -- the real point of the story is turning Ten into a dog . . .). :)

The way I have it laid out now, Little Jack is traveling with Rose and Ten, and has been for a little bit; among other things, I was waiting to see what sort of cool, souped-up wheelchair the Doctor might make up for Jack (so's I could steal the design, I'm not proud), but if there's no need for great internal consistency in these stories, I can just punt and make it all up as I go.

I have writing time this weekend, and will start getting into gear.

I was just wondering how the story for little Jack is coming along, if you've had any time to work on it? Of all the people that volunteered to do this initially there now seems to be only you and one other person actually wroking on fic, plus two artists still in this. I don't think there's any need at all for internal consitency since no one else is really carrying through so anything you can come up with at all would be great. Thanks so much for sticking with this.

*hangs head* Sorry, I've been having about two months of devastating writer's block/Muse Fail, which isn't made a whole lot better by knowing that I've got projects like this one waiting on me. I've got a pretty good story outline built up in my head (I ended up switching it from a Ten and Rose story to a Nine and Jack and Rose story, because it made a few plot points easier to have 4 characters rather than 3), it's just that the process of getting the dang thing out of my brain has been stalled. Real Life Crazy Teims haven't helped. But I really do want to take part in this project. I'll do my best on this, and should have a little bit of time this weekend to try and get something out.

I drew a picture, but I'm waiting for my friend to digitally color it. I should contact her about that....

I'm still kicking around wondering if anyone needs a beta :P And hoping for ideas, which aren't coming so far. Grr. I'm trying to think of something, but I'm a bit stuck at the mo.
