Sorry that happened to you! I had to do it about six months back and I was livid. *hates with you*

I now only leave certain entries public for one day and then on the next day, I close it up to friends only. That might be a solution if you want to leave certain entries public for a bit. :(

Nah, I'm done. I figured out they only hit the entries at the top of my journal that are unlocked- my "About me" sticky post got hammered!

Leaving this one open for all the bullshit, everything else gets locked. :p

Ugh! There was a rash of spam on a comm that I run a couple of months ago, so I know how much it sucks.

99% of entries on my LJ are f-locked, just for this reason (and also to avoid the OMG!trolls, especially fandom trolls. *sigh*)

It's funny, because when I first started posting I left everything unlocked hoping to "meet" people, and nothing happened. Now, any entry that's unlocked gets spammed.

The worst that's happened to me with spam on LJ is some nimwit linking to pictures of Palestinians blown to bits all because i posted a few pictures of an anti Israel Protest in Oxford a while back.
