So, I hate being on a diet just before the annual ritual of soft-serve ice cream starts..

Yep, I've been on Nutrisystem food for two weeks and have lost eight pounds. (even if I cheat a bit since I've created my own snack foods because, frankly, theirs are gruesome akin to a dog treat). I want to be healthy and fit otherwise I wouldn't be paying through the nose to get their women's core diet. However, I do mourn the things that I will ( Read more... )

I was thinking about doing Nutrisystem -- how has it been so far, if you don't mind my asking? Its a toss-up right now with Weight Watchers and Nutrisystem. :\

but that's because the portion sizes are so small (for me anyway) although I'm sure they're the portion sizes we're all supposed to eat. *rolls eyes*. I know I've overeaten in the past for sure (and that's how I ended up with the weight to lose) but I am hungry at least 50% of the time following it, but I think that has to do with all my large portions I was used to eating before. Hopefully, I'll adjust as the weeks go on. Good luck in whatever you choose!

See, that has always been my problem. :\ I only eat twice a day, which I guess is part of the problem, but I tend to eat big meals too. Ugh.

Please keep us up to date on how you're doing!! I wanted to start a diet as soon as school let out for my students, so I can be at home and starve instead of at work, hah.

GOOD LUCK!

Well, if it works for me it'll be a miracle as I had my thyroid removed many years ago and am on medication to keep the thyroid hormone stable. The problem with that is that it makes it super hard to lose weight (and very easy to gain weight) as I'm shifted to more or less hormone (depending upon blood work results)which is basically everyone's metabolism. The doctors at the time said "oh, no problem everything will be as before." and then I gained over fifty pounds over several years. I tried weight watchers but it didn't work particularly well for me so this is my last shot before I contemplate whether I qualify for bariatric surgery either lap band or the regular surgery. And I really don't want any kind of surgery if I can avoid it.
