That's a very nice summation! I think it's safe to say that whatever money could be made on this platform would be miniscule, indeed, and I don't think they're offering much recognition and respect.
It's too bad that money is the only thing that counts.
I was actually pleased that E. L. James is making a killing, no matter how bad her writing is, because fan fiction was never actually looked down upon because, "It's so awful, and tacky, and unoriginal!" It is still looked down upon because, "You should be making money!"
Because without money, it's nothing. A billion dollars commands respect even for Russian mob oligarchs.
