second job

I agreed to take an overnight shift last night. None of the clients slept.

I finished the shift and slept at home from 10am to 4:30pm.

I don't know why I still work the second job. I don't really need the money.

I've been looking for vacation opportunities, but at the moment, it is more of a priority to straighten up my finances. I am doing well, and still managing to have extra spending money.

It is most likely I will throw it at my debt. When I am down to just my student loans again, then it will be time to plan a vacation.

That is part of it. There are other reasons. I still work in direct service so I can better relate to the people I supervise. I also am interested in how other companies organize themselves. The extra spending money is nice. And I like the people I work with.

There is a different feeling to a job that is optional, that you don't do because you need it to survive. You have more freedom to speak your mind. You don't have to put up with things that bother you.

I think I do it because, as you say, it makes my life more interesting.
