Art for fanzine

Aug 06, 2006 06:56

Still alive. :-)

I've been obsessively working on a fanzine for the Summer Comiket for the past few weeks. The zine is almost done, thank gods.

I'm very excited about this con, much more so than the past two comikets that I went, 'cuz - hohoho - I'll be meeting the incredibly talented mneomosyne and have her grace my little booth. I've never dreamed of meeting someone in fandom who shares the same passion in creating art, not to mention someone so genuine, level-headed, and interesting. She'll be selling her book at the con, too. Thanks, Mnem!! ♥

I'll also see waccawheels there, and she'll have something on my table. Yay! I need to thank her for being so helpful and patient for me. She helped me go through the last two Comiket, eased my nervousness and put up with my constant whining. Thank you so much! I look forward to seeing your beautiful art again. :-)

For those of you who're coming to the con, come drop by at To-51b in the East-6 hall on the 12th (Saturday) (土曜日 東6ホール”ト”ブロックー51b) . I'll be giving away an 8-page free booklet, and you shall see mneomosyne and waccawheels's work too.

Here are some new art that I did for the zine - they're all H/D, btw.

These are drawn because I need two more pages to make the total number of pages a multiple of four.
1. Exhale

2. Inhale

I borrowed one of the poses from a picture of a nude woman (who is rather voluptuous) - can you tell which one? :-)

I'm quite partial to the idea of HP fanart with an Asian theme, or putting anything non-British in my own HP art. For these two illustrations, I tried English, believe me, but it just didn't work. I would love to use Hangul if only I knew the language. Hangul is masculine and powerful, and I always want to learn a little about it, but my brain just can't handle too much these days.

Besides, I'm selling my fanzine in Japan, so, yeah, what the hell.
