Despite what you say about your enthusiasm flagging, I really loved all the art.

Thank you ♥ I'm glad that the pictures didn't look too disappointing, even after me not having drawn anything for so long. Yay!

Before I read your written post I was intending to ask you whether you would consider joining the dracobigbang fest - there's a serious lack of artists there compared to the amount of writers. But I suppose the idea would be moot given the way you seem to feel about creating art. :( That's so very sad. (I understand how creating H/D can become a source of frustration rather than a pleasure, I feel the same, even if it has completely other reasons for me - but not feeling a drive to do art because of RL does seem horrible.)

Or maybe I have misunderstood your post and it's just creating FANART that seems a chore to you? I couldn't live without drawing/painting every day and thankfully my job permits me to use art in a creative way all the time. (Working with kids does that to you! ;D)

Anyway, your work is beautiful and delicate as always - I especially liked the scenery parts and thank you for posting the additional panel with the tree and house, it's my favourite. :))) I simply love your way with watercolours, it's absolutely delightful.

Thank you very much for letting me know about dracobigbang. I took a brief glance at the comm, and it seems to me that there are quite a lot of artists already. If I were to do illustrations for fics, I'd rather have the author approach me with their fics and ask me personally if I am interested, as in this case I don't have to worry whether or not the author would like me to illustrate their work.

RL has been exhausting; right now I'm working on another fanart for a fest. It's absolutely not a chore to do art for that fest and I'm 3/4 done, but I need both physical and mental energy to make art (fanart and non-fanart), and both I seem to be lacking for now.

And thank you very much for the encouragement. The additional panel is the first picture I did for the set of drawing, and I remember loving the feeling of realizing images on paper. :-)

Oh, there are a few artists, but by no means as many as there are authors. (I'm not completely sure, but I guess our number is about a dozen compared to heaps of authors.)

Your statement about any author not wanting to have you illustrate their work made me shake my head. You do know that you're one of the most admired and loved artists in H/D fandom, don't you? If not, I'm telling you. I'm sure any author would dance of glee if they got YOU as an illustrator to their stories. :)))

Glad to hear that you're enjoying doing art for this fest and I'm sorry RL has been exhausting to the point of sapping you of your energy. Hope this will change soon and you will be able to get energy from creative work rather than to lose it.

*blushes* Oh my cheeks are all red! Thank you. It's just that some authors might want some artists _more_ than other artists... I wish they could have some sort of matching between artists and authors, so that everybody would be happy. :-)

Thank you very much again for the well wishes ♥ I too hope someday I would have the urge again to draw, fanart or not.

No problem, I hope you liked the pdf format instead of plain image files. And thanks for the well wishes. I too hope my muse would come back to me someday. *hugs tight*

I can't express how grateful I am to you. Really, without your help the whole thing wouldn't have come together. Thanks again ♥ You're wonderful.

I hope you don't mind if I ask you again for betaing? Your suggestions really did a lot in improving the art.

Briliant idea to put this work in pdf format. I knew it was going to break my heart from the glimpse of the first brush stroke but this is such a joy to feast upon again and again. All the more so for not seeing your H/D for a long time, although I completely understand why.

ps what are we going to do with shades_of _grey? Apart from the art posts anything else posted gets minimal to no response, yet membership keeps climbimg. As one of our lovely members said: the comm seems deader than a dead thing.
