We just found out that my mom is NOT going to sign herself forever into a retirement place that is over 1000 miles from me and my sister. She is going to move to Anacortes!

YAY! This is too cool!!!

I think she finally realized that if she slowed down much that she would be stuck with no one visiting her or looking out for her. It's just too damn far and inconvenient for ANY of her kids to get there very often...

Also, I think she realized that there is some "critical mass" happening up north. Lots of activity; lots of family joy (e.g. Thanksgiving and days thereafter).

Where will she move to? in with Sarah n Tom, or Jim n (uh I forgethername), or get her own place?

right on. Anacortes is lovely... if it weren't for that no work, no close college thing, I'd wanna move there, too!

She is intending to rent a two-bedroom apartment in a retirement place that is close to Sara and Tom. She will get meals, some services (e.g. they clean and change the beds once a week) and will get some transportation if she gets to where she can't drive.

As for rain...I'm officially hoping it holds off until the roof is on our new house! Then we can finish it, and enjoy the rain out our new windows!
