Yeah, I make the most kick ass turkey ever. Its the *only* thing I can make. I excel at it. I have a special roasting pan with lifting forks just for my turkey. It's like a man and his barbecue. "Next day take it out, rinse it, make it dance, try not to be sad and take all the spices and oranges and lemons and stuff it all inside the bird."

That is hilarious. I'm the same about meat, because I eat it, but I was veggie once, and I live with someone who's been veggie for a long time too, so it's on my mind. But...delish! ;)

Between your turkey and Matthew's apple pie, I'm getting mighty hungry over here.

We'll see how it turns out... we're using a variation on it. GEtting the fresh spices was a little too pricey (we're grown thyme and sage inside, but we didn't have enouhgh), but we did find that Holiday had a brining kit that had almost all the same stuff (salt included) for $4. So, we took that and added an orange and lemon we already had.

So, now it's sitting out on the front porch with a 5 gallon bucket of water on top of it for weight. It smells _so good_. I can't wait to cook it tomorrow.

What? Even though I don't eat meat doesn't mean I don't like to cook! :)

Holiday Market in Royal Oak... they had this sealed bag of salt & spices labeled "Brining Kit." It smelled fantabulous after it was opened.

The turkey turned out great too.. it was quite the hit. Not bad for the vegetarian to make a good turkey. :)
