[CWS Writing Calendar July 2013] Day 20

Jul 22, 2013 16:27

Name: Alan Abercrombe Wain

* 14.03.1943 in the Australian Outback
Parents (LeMar and Lucy Wain) died when Alan was six. He was brought up by Aborigines.
Alan always wanted to become a famous actor, but he either lacked the talent or didn’t get the chance to prove himself (depends on who you ask).
He is fascinated with archaeology. Wants to discover some valuable stuff and keep it for himself, but he hasn’t had the money to go look for it other than in the Australian Outback...
Alan tried to drown his sorrow with alcohol, but that didn’t work out too well.
Matzy (an Aborigine woman) fell in love with Alan and they got married (or rather the Aborigine equivalent of marriage) and had several children- all because Alan was drunk all the time. The seldom moments when Alan wasn’t drunk, he denied ever having married or having children and started hitting everyone he could lay his hands on.
After several years, when Matzy was finally full of her husband’s habits, she and her grown up children threw Alan out. They dumped him on a cargo ship heading towards the south western coast of America.
This way, Alan actually made it to L.A. Unfortunately, he had not become the famous actor he wanted to be, but lived his live as a hobo and beggar on the streets. His hatred for the rich and famous passing him by grew from day to day.
