pondering

My moods have been shifting with tidal consistency these days, but today I'm feeling particularly good. It's nice out, and I read two articles between classes that I found to be very inspiring. If you're ever feeling sad, I suggest picking up Martin Luther King's sermon on Loving Your Enemies (it's not particularly long) or the selected writings of ( Read more... )

I used to be kinda sad that you never post as much as my sillyass does, because I want to know what's going on in your life because as we both realized, this is the first time in our whole existance that we've gone to separate schools. But when you post, you write meaningful posts, such as this one, and I think "Lauren is maturing so quickly that it's incredible to sit back and watch."

This is a really interesting post because you're teaching us when life makes us want to cry or bitch, instead to channel it out with words of wisdom. It makes me want to almost, as they say, "choose my fights" - like in other words, choose what is important to be sad about and what to cry, and instead, when life get challenging, you just look at the fortunate aspects instead. I used to do that once, a long time ago, and now I feel as if I don't. But like Chiya said, you're very inspiring - and I think I will follow your route as well.

Looks like you've already made a difference in two people's lives.

And btw, I miss you more than anything!!

Don't worry that you're the only one who thinks this way because every vapid 20 year old girl in college thinks she's really deep because she read something not included on the Seventeen recommended book list, and they all have the same brainless interpretations of it. As long as there are half-retarded, privileged white girls you'll never be alone.

had I not just read "Loving Your Enemies," that might've pissed me off. but since you didn't have the balls post your name, I can't very well give two shits about what you think of me. It's people like you that make this world a sorry place to live in. You try to build up your own ego by knocking others down. What have I ever done to you? and what exactly is brainless about my interpretation of these articles? I said I liked them and it made me feel a need to reflect on how I treat people. Just a heads up, maybe you should try that some time. I can post whatever I want in my journal, and if you don't like it, why are you reading it? I hope anonymously insulting me made you feel better about yourself. It gave me a good laugh, because people like you will always be around to try and bring me down, and it's just not going to happen. In fact, I'll probably post more of this stuff in hopes that you read it :) have a nice day.

I doubt you'd find the MLK sermon on your "Seventeen recommended book list" since it's not a book, so here it is. use the internet to do something more productive than stalking 19 year old girls on their journals.
