This is parenting in a nutshell...real parenting. Hugs...It's not an easy job, but one of the most rewarding.

I assume this is real. What a great examination of what it's like to be a parent -- no matter how many people we talk to or books/blogs, etc., we read, the feeling of never knowing what you're doing is always there.

The pain of barely surviving and feeling swept under will not be a curse I pass on. The circle ends with me.
I think this is a struggle that is very familiar to parents. And not necessarily to over-smooth their children's paths through life, but to make sure that their children can do this for themselves by the time they are grown.

We hope to correct the mistakes of our own childhoods, and not to introduce too many more for the next generation. :)
