www.qlhf.org.au - here there are a list of all their member groups in QLD. There are certainly others, but they aren't covered by QLHF public liability insurance and may not be as reputable.

I am the secretary of the Knights Order of Lion Rampant (www.lionrampant.com.au) - we are a high medieval 14th century group based on the northside (that is we train at Lutwyche) and perform at such events as History Alive (www.historyalive.org.au) and Abbey (www.abbeytournament.com).

Not sure if there's much else I can give you - anything in particuarly you were after?

so cool! Thanks! Knights Order of Lion Rampant looks interesting. Do they allow female fighters? Some groups don't, but I'd love to learn after the bub arrives. I also have an interest in amouring and metal work.

KOLR does not discriminate male and female roles. Provided you can convincingly pull off looking like a male combatant (or a lady of the high table for the guys) then we allow it.

For example, I am a combatant - I train with sword, shield and other weapons however due to my fiance also training as a combatant (and now being pregnant) we focussed mostly on him getting on the field in armour this year and I spent the last few shows as a lady of the high table cos y'know, it's easier to pull it off. We have other female combatants (and at least a couple of male 'ladies') with the groups we perform with so it's never an issue.

KOLR trains on Sundays (providing there is no show/event on) at Prentice Park at Lutwyche (just behind Blockbuster opposite Centro Shopping Centre) from 5pm onwards. Feel free to pop down and check out what we do, or send us an email enquiries@lionrampant.com.au if you have any specific questions.
