Well, we used to rent very near where we live now, on the near nw side. We had a two-bedroom, fenced yard, pets okay, no garage for $550. I think that's about what they go for now around here, but some neighborhoods are obviously sketchier then others, but on the whole we got robbed way more on the near east side and downtown proper... I've seen many "for rent" signs around here you might want to check around here. Spectre & Alyda aren't too far south from us, and things are even cheaper in their hood, I think.

hmmmmmm, head down meridian towards the south of downtown and their are lots of little houses for rent. =)

I just saw a flyer today for a 3 BR, 1 bath, house with w/d that was around $600, though I don't remember if it had a garage or not. I wish I could remember where I saw the flyer. The address was something like 15 Layman St., if you want to try searching for that.
