Well I am going to make this short and sweet. . . I am kind of in a rush.For me it is quite hard to get involved with a book, but this book caught my attention. The main issue that really caught my attention was why Lieutenant Jimmy Cross gave up his "love" for Martha? Althought he did not know if it was false love or not,but he just gave up. Hey Jo!

See I don't think it was Lieutenant Jimmy Cross's fault that Lavender died. I mean even if he wasn't day dreaming about Martha how would he have saved Lavender? I do think it was good though that he did give up his obbession for Martha, it will probably help him become a better listener as you said. That is sad that all those soliders did put their daily lives on hold to fight in the war. They deserve so much credit for that, I don't think i could ever do that. I agree with pretty much all of your opinions JoAnn.

hey JO!

anyway...you mentioned that he still loved her after the war. Well I found it funny how he goes to meet her after hes back and he tells her that whole thing about tying her up. How is she supposed to respond to that? I do think that he will be a better Lt. now thought because he will be more focused.
