Just a quick post even though I haven't posted in a bit of a while, holidays were enjoyed, birthday tea was consumed in mass quantaties (such that I was up until 3:00 a.m. even though most people left by 7:00), and for my birthday V decided I should have a new kitten since I have been talking about Stalin needing a new friend and how he would not ( Read more... )

Check the newspaper? Or maybe that would be craigslist now. I'm sure someone's cat had kittens!
I'm with you on the ridiculousness of the adoption process. I had thought about it a few years ago, but when I checked into it, they wanted to come out to my apartment to make sure it was safe, and they asked me if I would be able to take off a week to help the kitten adjust. ??? Luckily Pam's mom knew of a cat with kittens at the time, so I went that route.
Good luck!

They really are forcing people to turn away from adoption agencies and more towards just picking up strays off the street. I know they are trying to make sure the cats end up in good homes, but good grief! They'll be doing credit checks pretty soon!

Unfortunately that kitty is no longer reliably around. I mean, he's still out in my parking lot, but I see him only some days, and he doesn't follow me around and jump in my car anymore. =/

I think craigslist is the place to go nowadays for the equivalent of the old-time box o'kittens. =)

Well, if you happen to see him anytime soon and he is still in need of a home, I would be happy to help him out :)

I see him most mornings, but he's not as trusting around humans anymore. =/ He's probably trappable, though! And he's definitely lived with people before so he's not a feral.
