I watched the 4th of July fireworks with my boy in breathtaking New York City along FDR Drive in Manhattan right by the river, and it was so amazing and romantic. We took the train from the Bronx into Manhattan and walked (really fast - and now I think I got shin splints) about 20 blocks down to the closest available street that the Police hadn't

a few years ago when they did like 3 simultaneous firework displays (i'm not sure if they do that every year, but it was new to me at the time), we went into my dad's building in brooklyn and up to the 16th floor and just watched all three displays at once, it truly is incredible...
...and i'm sure it's even nicer when you have someone to share it with
