The woman with no balls

I woke up too early before work. Don't you hate it when you do that? For some reason last night, I was paranoid about being late, so I set the alarm for far too early. So of course, it went off when I was sleeping so nice and soundly! And here I am, with nothing to do because I didn't need to wake up so early. I do like the light in the early ( Read more... )

Bah. You're a grown-up now, you don't have to be dragged along to boring stores. Why don't you tell her that you're sorry to cancel at the last minute, but you've just realized that you don't have time to go, because it's going to take all your free time to clean?

I realize it's probably too late now, but you can decline a trip without coming out and saying "I don't want to go to a bunch of stupid trendy stores and you misled me!"

Or, best idea, simply tell her you've thought about it, but you don't really like going to those stores and you really should spend the time cleaning, and maybe you can do something else that's a little quicker and cheaper together soon; ie, the truth. :-)

Yeah, there's not need to worry. I decided that it's stupid to do something if I know I am going to miserable. Would she really want me there if I was going to be no fun? I called her as I was driving home from work and told her that I was exhausted (I was! As soon as I got home I took a nap!)and that my feet were killing me...that happens after working 35 hours in five days at two jobs that require a lot of running around and standing on your feet constantly! And that I just really was not up to it. Plus, I didn't have five dollars to blow on a corndog. I am really glad I did not go because I would have been miserable. I was so tired and all I wanted to do was be alone yesterday. She sounded upset with me and tried to talk me into going anyway, but I just declined. I told her I was not up to trudgining around a bunch of different malls. And that was the truth. I've decided I am never going to let things like that stop me again. She'll get over it.

Yup! Any decent friend (and she sounds like one) would still be your friend even if you didn't want to go to the mall with her when you're tired. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Good for you for staying home when you're that tired. :-)

Erin, you're gonna have to let this woman know that you just don't have time/energy/money to do that kind of stuff. In fact, the next time she brings up doing something you'd rather not do why don't you say, "I'd rather not do that, why don't we do something else instead." The something else would be something YOU want to do. ;p

I can't wait to see you!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna be there Sunday morning!! :D

I've been running around like crazy and working a lot too so I can totally relate.

Have you tried playing music for Lola, my friend's maccaw, Paco, liked classical and Country and Western and that's it. If you tried to play anything else he would scream and fuss. But as soon as you put it on classical (he especially loved opera and would sing along) he'd be content and just sing/talk to himself.
