I admit it. As excited as I am, I'm petrified. I going to be entirely on my own and I'm not even sure that I can really afford this place. I thought the state would help me out a lot more, but they won't. And the sad thing is the case worker had me believing that all I had to do was find a place and they would help me out all the way.

You will do a fantastic job. Yes, it seems scary, but you are 100x more responsible than most people our age. You seem very determined and only want the best for your son (who is very cute, by the way!) Things didn't turn out how you had planned and hoped, but you have the opportunity to give yourself and your son the better life which you deserve. Jump at every opportunity that passes in front of you. You can do this. Nick will need someone to look up to, and if his Mom works to give him the best, through all of the hardship, he will recognize that. Maybe not today, maybe not 10 years from now even, but he will.
You're doing a great job.
