Deep down, Sam knew that he should have done this a while ago. But first he didn't want to call too soon. Then he didn't want to call when he knew Dawn had finals. Then he decided it would be bad to ruin her holiday. Now, he didn't have any excuses left, and he realized that if he waited much longer, he'd end up waiting for too long.

So, Sam locked the door to make sure he wouldn't be interrupted, and sat down on his bed with his phone. If he had to listen to the message about him and honey and fire ants, he figured he probably deserved it.

Dawn picked up the phone without checking to see who was calling, or thinking about who could be calling her when everyone she knew was in the house. "Hello?"

It took Sam a second to realize she'd answered. "Um. Hey Dawn. It's Sam."
