I hate it when people talk about how much they hate George W. Bush, the government, and the war in Iraq. First off, America's people voted the man in, so you should be badmouthing the public, not one man. Now, If you were robbed or raped, who would you go to? The police, which is a branch of the government. Thats pretty hypocritical. Third, it is ( Read more... )

Hahaha, but yeah. You have a very good point and I completely agree with you. I can't wait to see what happens with the patriotism piece, you'll have to keep us updated!

yeah, people at my school all walk around with that goddamn bush administration book, I doubt they've even read it. They just find that they belong to something if they all hate one thing. Its so stupid. I think I'll have like a pin up girl in a marine uniform or something, stating to support our military...I dont know yet. All I know is that it'll be VERY interesting!!

p.s. i agree with paragraph 2 - i get irritated by the people who claim to be "anti-war", etc etc - usually uninformed young people who feel they have to adhere to some generic "liberal" mindset - but then there are people (most of America) who are blindly "patriotic"... it works both ways.

in the end, it comes down to educating yourself.

personally despise GWB. he's done nothing for this country except tax the fuck out of the middle class (are you a home-owner?) + bring on a TRILLION $$$ debt for the next generation. if he wins again - i am OUT OF THE COUNTRY.

I dont like him much either, the only thing I like that he's done with this country is title X, which the government pays for young/lower class womens' personal health care. I dont see why people just hate him so much that they rant about him all the time. He'll just be a footnote in history. its not like he's our mightly leader for forever.

Ya know whats kinda sad though..

3000 innocent Americans died on September 11, and that will be remebered forever as a tragedy (as it should), but when we killed 8000 innocent Iraquis (+ all the American and British soldiers that have died), everybody just says "oh well, the end justifies the means". It's like we forgot what it feels like to lose so many people.

The thing I really dont get is that september 11th was linked to osama and the afghanis, but yet, we went and attacked the iraqis and blamed it on them, somehow?

we did not, bush did.

but yet, we went and attacked the iraqis and blamed it on them, somehow?
this is exactly why so many people dislike bush and why they rally against war. this is a campaign to finish what his father started and 9/11 gave him a good lead in and excuse to do it.

In essence I agree with what you're angrily stating here. I think people should be realistic about human nature and keep their idealism balanced by the reality of politics and human nature. Being anti-American and/or hating is just a big waste of time overall. I'm not a supporter of Bush. In fact, I think he's a poor president who's taken our country down the road of more debt, a decline of our personal freedoms, and closer to the sort of religious state that looks more and more similar to the sort we're supposedly fighting against in the Middle East. But all these self-righteous, extremist, left-wingers are no better than their right-wing, Bible-thumping brethren unless they work with others on the left andright (and the majority who are a little bit of both) to make policies that neither swing too much one way or another. Its easy to dogmatic, and think being anti-______ . It takes no real effort to have an opinion. In reality its actually when people support something, a positive cause, that change occurs. Protesting is a step ( ... )

I agree with you. I dislike people who don't appreciate this country, especially those who dislike it for the sake of being different.
I useually hate posting in random peoples journals, but I had a very shitty day at school, full of stupid libral teenagers who hate America, just because anti-whateva is the thing to be. This entry cheered me up. At least i know im not the only one who actually appreciates my country.
