When your whole life has gone to hell, you have to trudge through the shit knowing that eventually the shit ends. It never feels like it will end, and people telling you it will end (i.e. me) will never really make it feel like it's true, but it will. The way to gauge the worth of an abysmal period in your life is to see how high you are holding your head when you come out on the other end.
Feel terrible, feel depressed, feel like crying - it's all totally acceptable - but start looking for the positive in your life, day to day. Any positive will do, start with noticing how nice the weather is, or how delicious your breakfast was. When all is said and done, you'll be able to find the good in any bad, and with a new found sense of clarity, you'll be able to overcome anything life has to throw at you - as none of it will seem so bad in comparison.
Life can always get worse, and it can always get better. You get to decide which direction it moves.
