No 1-up Mushroom in Life

Hidden away in your dark hobbit holes,

Basking in the Google glow of the screen,

You miss the lede, the thesis, the main point.

The whole of life’s prose lies dusty-unread.

Our lives are not some side-scrolling adventure.

No one is scripting our discourse and scenes.

We’re a mess, dysentery at its worse.

no, seriously, i like it! i'm glad you used some fun vocab on this, pulling out words like schmuckbait and such.

We had to write 20 words that you wouldn't see in a poem normally and the assignment was to use those words in a poem.

I had so much fun with this one, but the words I didn't use were: vomit, psionic, teleportation, thermodynamics, geek, and typically.

I really wanted to use thermodynamics, but it just wouldn't work with me.

Also I do a damn fine reading of this poem.
