I used to look at job interviews this way. When I went in, I didn't have the job. If I wasn't offered it then I - still didn't have the job. So I hadn't really lost anything, and had gained by having more interview experience. I'm a real silver lining kind of gal. ;)
But not calling and letting you know sucks. When I interview, I call even if the decision is delayed beyond the time frame I'd oringially indicated, because I think people deserve that. And I always call if they interviewed but didn't get the job. It's a pretty basic courtesy.
