though i am glad that john forte was pardoned-- i think bush did it to distract folks. who else did he pardon? i wonder who the other 13 people are.
"Much speculation has been made of others Bush may opt to pardon. Most of these involved those that government employees that may have unjustly interrogated suspected terrorists in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. A pardon of these cases would severely impede president elect Barack Obama from investigating such crimes." from http://www.allhiphop.com/stories/news/archive/2008/11/24/20721874.aspx
http://www.suntimes.com/news/nation/1296776,bush-pardon112408.article the article has a list of all the people he pardoned. unclear is whether Bush has any plans to give legal protection to government employees -- in case they are ever charged -- in connection with their role in harsh interrogators of terrorist suspects after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Pre-emptive pardons would be highly controversial, but lawyers argue they would protect those who were following orders or otherwise trying to protect the nation.
I was just talking about him last week and how much I loved his 1st album and he actually was the best emcee in the crew. This is probably the strangest moment in hip hop outside of: 1. Big Lurch actually eating his roomate 2. Steady B and Cool C actually robbing a bank and getting on Death Row 3. This 4. Sarah Palin replacing BET uncut legend Joker the Bailsbondsman and Trajon Langdon as the most famous celebrity in Alaska
Why Did GWB Do ItapafellaNovember 26 2008, 03:00:10 UTC
As usual Giles you begin to philosophize in your post on socio-political issues and fail to do adequate research.
GWB pardoned him becuase Forte was the main antagonist of the direct-to-video animated film Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas and GWB loves that movie and can identify with Forte cuz GWB is the main antagonist to americans.
