I'm not implying that Texans suck or are more deserving of this. As a matter of fact, I know people over there, so yeah. Don't dare try to put words into my mouth, mm'kay? ^-^ But seriously... What CAN you do when they're just blabbing non-stop about Florida when there's a chance this can go anywhere?

Is she supposed to care more about strangers than about the people she loves? If that were the case, could she meaningfully claim to love them?

(I'm not implying that this is even the case--honestly, I'm not a close enough friend to know. I'm merely pointing out something that many people would consider a flaw in your logic.)

I have to agree with Brent. NOAA rox0rz. They have been pretty damn accurate most of the time. They are currently saying that the highes probability of landfall will be somewhere between Gulfport and Eastern LA. Their predicted path map kind of shows this. They also say that there are a lot of things in the Gulf that could push it East. IMHO I think it will pretty much head due North. Anyway, if your parents are looking at moving to Jackson, you might want to have them consider the outskirts of Madison County. I lived there for most of my life and Madison is a nice town with rapidly rising property values. They also have excellent schools.

Hrm.. well, all I know is that the place where they're building my dad's new store will be wherever they're building the new Bass Pro Shop. I'm not sure where that all is, but I'll be sure to pass that info on to my mom and them since they're looking for a nice place to get a house :D
