Thank goodness they're not cleaning it up to make pg-13. YAY that Aaron Lohr is gonna be in it (don't know who he is? ask me tomorrow and get hysterical teenybopper screams. I'm passionately in love with him and he was in Newsies). I think the April thing could work, and Rosario sounds really good on Without You.
release date in NYC/LA: Nov. 11 (it's a Friday-- we're going.)
Apparently, the beginning of the movie shows them all at the peak of happiness. Such as Roger's good ol' days of being an up and coming musician slash Mark and Maureen still being a couple, etc. But, it bluntly ends when Roger returns home to find April lying in the bathtub, wrists slit, next to a note reading, of course, "We've got AIDS."
So there you have it. But that still doesn't explain Allison...unless she featured in the opening at Benny's wedding or something.
Did I ever day "Oh gee golly I'm SO surprised it's rated R!"? You make me sound like a total idoit. I wasn't surprised at all. It just means I won't be able to get in without a parent because I definitley don't look 17. So I wasn't jumping up and down about that.
PS- But the point is, Allison is a character always mentioned but never appearing. Even if you share a name. So it kind of ruins the effect.

Haha, what's Mimi's peak of happiness? Her and Benny being together? Maybe...?

Rent is based on crack heads and strippers.
Not to mention a death scene symbolized by an orgy.
Barring the fact that it is also amazing.
PS- Damn STRAIGHT there's an Allison!
