Writer's Block

I hate writer's block. I love writing, but I am constantly getting stuck on one partiular idea or just not being inspired. Even for English assignments. I love English class, ususally (I may not love Mr Grant all the time, but it's my favorite subject). So, all I have to do is write 1-2 pages about any kind of story, in the voice of Holden ( Read more... )

I love English too. I had that same assignment a while ago, it was a lot of fun. I worked so hard on it that I actually got an A. I found it was easy to get into Holden's charecter when writing about a time where I was feeling low. You can be cynical about it, you can make jokes about it, you can talk about how "crumby" or "lousy" it made you feel, and it ends up really sounding a lot like him. I don't know if that'll help, but if you do need some assistance feel free to ask me (I loved this assignment, as dorky as I am).

Story of my life. Writer's block. For my english class we had to write a story about Holden coming to your school. And it was fun and easy. And I wrote that he fell in love with this girl that ...shhh... resembles me... because I am absolutely in love with him. But...write about Holden at school. Two things that don't mix.

Hey Lily, its Emma O. Holden Caulfield, eh? I love that boy. Write about when he says, "This is my people shooting hat. I shoot people in this hat."

I guess it would be tough to write about that though.

I figured I'd share my favorite quote with you anyway. =]
