I have nothing to say. But I want you to know that I screamed with joy when I saw this picture pop up on Twitter. I'm basically obsessed.

the way i see it is...
people like us may never be truly satisfied with who hollywood (or broadway, for that matter) chooses to play our girls. BUT some of us (we know who we are...) don't have to go around bitching and mooooaning about it, because it's like you said--there will be some stuff we do like and some stuff we don't like. it's inevitable.
on a side note i really do think they should remove anne's shins to make her shorter.

EXACTLY. I'm just happy that there's going to be something new and ridiculous that has to do with Judy.

The removal of her shins is an inevitable process. It will be done.

I agree with you. I found the book really good in some places, but overall it was mean-spirited and sex-obsessed. I don't think they'll portray it that way though. Anne has always been a huge Judy fan and I don't think she'd agree to portray her as a monster or a slut. Plus, it's a big screen film so it can't be as long as a mini-series. They can't cram all that into two hours. I'm really excited that Annie is doing her own singing though! She has a fabulous voice! I've always said she should play Judy. I'm really looking forward to it! I think it will be good. I just wonder if she's going to play Judy when she gets older or if it ends sometime in the fifties...?

Yeah, I'm sure the movie will be based more on her life in general - not necessarily the book itself. I really love Anne and I think she'll do a great job. They'll probably have Anne play her for the whole span of Judy's life (except early childhood, obviously...), because while Judy aged fast, she never looked truly old, she just looked... sick. They'll probably make her lose weight for Judy's later years, or at least have to do a good job with make up. I just hope we don't get another horrible fat suit for the mid-late '50s like we did with Me and My Shadows. Oy.
