I am not Emily, but because I have a Grey Gardens problem, I am responding.

#1 WATCH THAT DOCUMENTARY. EPICCC.
#2: She had alopecia. It was often stress-induced. It is my understanding that it would oftentimes grow back, but by the 1950s or 60s, it just stopped growing back.
#3: No one really knows for sure if she was schizo, but if you look up the symptoms of schizophrenia, it seems highly possible. Rumor has it Phelan Beale (her daddy) was convinced she was.

She was freaking gorgeous when she was young and fresh - but an absolute BEAUTY QUEEN in her later years. Just kidding, EBB. ILU.

I would totally be best friends with her. For all of her outside wackiness, she was super intelligent and I would love getting into a screaming match with her.
