I just bought my first Placebo CD & am excited to see that there seems to be a fandom for it.

Hey, I'm Sarah as well. It's nice to meet you. If you're looking to learn all things Placebo, you've come to the right place. I've been a fan for quite a long time, so I'll be happy to share my knowledge if asked. I shall add you back as well. :) If you're interested in Brian Molko of Placebo, I have a community called, d_m_e_n which is devoted to showing a picture-a-day of Brian and by default the other guys in the band as well. They're actually touring the states in a couple of months, so if you're able to, you should really check 'em out live because it is quite the experience. Which album did you buy?

I just bought "Once More With Feeling: Singles 1996-2004 [Disc 1 & 2]" as a sort of starting point. I've only just heard them for the fist time recently on QAF and they've been playing Infra-red on 107.7 (Seattle's alt radio) lately.

Funny you should mention seeing them live. I literally just received an email from the aforementioned 107.7 with presale info on a "Halloween" concert they're doing with She Wants Revenge on Oct 26. I'm really tempted to go (getting some one else to go with me will be the tricky part)!

I'll definitely check out your community and I'm sure I'll ask for knowledge sharing in the future.

OMWF will give you a taste of the goods, but some of their best stuff is their covers and B-sides. I have almost the entire Placebo catalog, so if you find something you want, just let me know. :) I even have their dodgy demos. LOL.

I'm seeing them on the 18th and the 22nd of October. I can't wait. I'm super pumped. Especially for the 21+ show because screaming teenage fans are annoying.

I mostly bought a greatest hits album because I didn't know where else to start and it had most of their songs I had heard before.

If I find any songs I'll definitely ask you. Or, if you have any recommendations for another album or covers/b-sides to get I'd love any expert advice.

I think I'm going to be able to go to their show on Oct. 26th which is exciting =)

Oh, and I checked out d_m_e_n and Brian Molko is very pretty!

They actually came out with an album that had all of their cover songs on it. Sometime this month, they're also supposed to be re-issuing their first album with some of the b-sides, I believe. You have to get "Slackerbitch". One of the greatest songs.
