Okay, over the years I've gotten used to slash combo terms such as Viggorlijah and even Bagginsshield, as awful as that is, but tonight for the first time I saw... Gigolas.

Gigolas?

I can't handle that. No, I don't read them, but I can't handle hearing that word, either.

So I read the other day about BOFA... SPOILER!!!!! )

Thranduil, as you know, doesn't like Tauriel. So near the end of the movie Thranduil tells Legolas he is forbidden from seeing her anymore. Legolas basically tells him to fuck off. lol. He says he's leaving Mirkwood. Thranduil doesn't try to stop him, but he tells Legolas that he should go to...I think it was Lorien, and that he should look for and get to know a Ranger of the North who is called Strider. (As you mentioned above, I think he does mention Arathorn, too.) He says that Legolas can find out for himself what Strider's real name is. He never actually says Aragorn's name for some reason.

As Legolas turns to walk away, Thranduil tells him that his mother loved him more than anyone else in the world. There is another scene earlier in the film where Legolas talks to Tauriel about his mother.

And then as Legolas starts to leave, Thranduil sort of bows to Legolas, and Legolas bows a tiny bit to his father. I have a feeling in the Extended Edition, they will flesh this scene out a little bit more.

humidity and bright sunlight

This could be a problem in Texas??? :D :D: :D just kidding...

By the way, I'm on the third season of Call the Midwife...Such fodder for plots, such fodder for plots (and I love the show anyway...:D)

Well, I have to keep my blinds closed so that yes, the bright sunlight does not come in, and the air conditioning running so the humidity doesn't get too bad! But we'll see, we'll see... I did get them on sale for only five bucks, so if they kick the bucket sooner than I think, at least they won't have cost much!

I have only watched one disk of Call the Midwife... gotta get more! I really do like the show myself.

Ooh, what a cool if tiny nod to Aragorn's existence in the Hobbit! I still am a little miffed that they didn't do a bridge movie but oh well. I'm avoiding major spoilers so far (I'll hopefully see it Sunday) but it is nice to see a general consensus of "SQUEEEEEE IT'S GREAT!!!" coming from all directions.

Yay for buying yourself Christmas treats. Do post photos of the lamp and roses!

I was excited about it. :) Of course, we realize that Aragorn's age is "off" from the book by a number of years (unless he really is a VERY young ranger, lol!), but I stopped being able to figure out ages in LOTR movie-verse long ago, or worrying about it, I guess.

I hope I enjoy it--didn't like the second one at all, so this one can only be better for me.

I will post photos!

It's a Gimli/Legolas slashfic. I don't read those, but I saw it on ff.net and out of curiosity, I looked it up and sure 'nuff, it's a popular term now. *shakes head*

I actually love editing... really, really enjoy it. But yes, after you've gotten about 3/4 of the way through a really dry book about politics or economics, you're SO ready to move on!

I edit for an online place that accepts documents, articles, etc., too from people, and those are often really interesting. However, most of them are ESL, and man, are they challenging!

I hope you're doing well and enjoying the holidays! *HUGS*
