Week 0: Introduction

Fact #1: I am a practicing attorney.

This summer, it occurred to me that I updated my journal so infrequently that many of my LJ friends had no idea how I lived my life. To remedy that situation, I started the 365 Facts series. Every day, I would update my journal with one random fact about myself. The series served a dual purpose: it gave me a ( Read more... )

Break ups are awful and no matter how independent we are, no matter how sure of ourselves we are, they leave us feeling as though something is missing from ourselves instead of someone missing from our lives.

I enjoyed this entry and I admire your idea of showing your friends list pieces of yourself each day rather than assuming that they knew everything already. I hope you can find your way back to it and remind yourself that you actually ARE just you and not just part of a couple.

I am looking forward to your entries.

They do. It's hard for me not to look at the breakup and say that there's something wrong with me because of it, but I'm working on my thinking.

Thank you!

*hugs* Don't worry, we all ultimately failed at actually keeping up with the facts, though who knows if we'll all go back to them one day? And I agree with everyone above that you're a great friend. :)

I remember stumbling onto your real name when I was searching Facebook one day. And it didn't even strike me as odd... Sometimes it still takes me a moment to remember your non-Lily name.

I like how you pulled in your 365 facts game for this.

I don't remember doing this with you, but usually when I meet someone from LJ, I say, "I know I have this other name, but just call me Lily, since that's the name you know." It works.

Thanks! It was a good game, and maybe I'll bring it back after Exhibit A.

I find that in the course of Idol we tend to reveal little pieces of ourselves, so in a way you'll be giving out some "facts" -- even if cloaked in fiction.

It's hard to get through Idol without giving anything away about yourself. I tried that for brief parts of last season. It was a terrible idea.

I remember the zombie fact because I commented the same. :D

I think it's okay to have to take a break from things when life throws us unexpected events. I've been through similar times.

I like throwing that fact out there. :D

I usually yell at myself for taking breaks. It's not healthy.
