Okay, here's the deal: my little sister was ASSAULTED by the managers--yes, the fucking MANAGERS--at the local Dunkin Donuts and got injuries. The attacked happened at the resturant in front customers AND my sister's 8 year old son. The police, being the dickheads that they are refuse to let my sister get a copy of the report nor to let her file ( Read more... )

Wow, that is seriously all kinds of fucked up. If we HAD a Dunkins, I honestly would.

I can't believe both the DD and the police are being such dickheads. I'm sorry your sister had to go through all that as well.

Did the police take statements from the other customers? Since it happened in front of others, that gives you quite a few witnesses to counter the managements' report.

And since my youngest brother's going to KU this fall, I'll let him know to stay away from that one.

The heck.

All our Dunkin Donuts around here closed years ago, but I'm suddenly glad I didn't seek any out during the Otakon trip as I usually do.

Has she tried going to the police station and talking to the senior officer? It's possible that they might hear her out, especially with the implications towards their officers.

Alternatively, if this didn't work she could contact the local paper and tell them the story. If it appears in print, it's far more likely that a senior officer will perform a proper investigation, which would of course lead to charges against the manager as well.

I'd also contact a lawyer about it and see what they can do about obtaining the security footage of the store when this all happened. Even if it just covers the front of house, it would show her being reasonable and being invited in to the back, which makes no sense if she was the one committing the assault.

Actually, I would check with the lawyer before contacting newspaper, as the lawyer might be able to put pressure without being quite so confrontational.

Definitely in agreement.
I really hope that your sister does take some sort of alternative action. It would be ridiculous to leave the situation as is.
