Very wise! Because isn't that true for all presents, that they should be personal, not expensive!

Anyway, you just made me wonder with fear what my Valentine's Day will turn out to be like... Oh my God, I should never have read this post...now it's gonna hunt me...

Sooner or later you usually buy something. After you're with someone for a long time, such as with Manna and me, bought presents just lose their flare.

Valentine's Day doesn't ruin you. Your own mind attacking you is what ruins it.

well, it's not about the fact that you buy something, what of course you do sooner or later. I was trying to say: it doesn't have to be expensive, as long as it's personal and you can see the other person put a lot of effort into it.

What basically ruins me are my silly expectations... When you allow thoughts like: what if...

My point exactly.

I try not to expect anything. It's near impossible, but sometimes that's the only thing you can do.

If you're alone, you can feel like the sorriest asshole on the face of this earth and wonder why you were cursed,

And here I was just planning on feeling bad, now I have to work on feeling worse about being alone on Valentine's day!

Why feel bad about something that society imposes on you? Be single to be single. Valentine's Day is a day for a saint, not just for fucking and romance.
