Friends and I delayed seeing the movie until it was playing at the brewhouse cinema and just kept drinking which made the movie nearly tolerable. I think I may have downed an entire martini during that *sparkly* scene though and I'm not much of a drinker. I can't believe they are seriously making a second film.

Oh good... glad to know I'm not the only one who thought those books were utter rubbish. As soon as I read about vampires that can go out in daylight, I threw up my hands in disgust. And they sparkle. Vampires don't sparkle! I don't care how cute and brooding they are - they aren't supposed to sparkle!

The writing was really awful. Am still trying to figure out who this very thinly veiled abstainence morality tale became such a huge hit while really good writers go unnoticed. Feh.

I believe it's been compared to scooping out one's brains with a spork. I've managed to avoid the movie, but future-sis-in-law did make me read the first book. Ugh...
