Here we are 12 years after my last entry, just writing to avoid working on doctoral work. For posterity, life is good, the PhD is almost done, and re-reading my old posts from when I first met Josh and we were engaged, clearly I made a good choice because here we are with 12 years of marriage down. It hasn't been easy, but partnerships never are. 

Sometimes I forget that there are people who have it so much worse. And I hate that because it makes me feel like what is going on doesn't matter (it usually doesn't) and realizing that I have it good is usually what helps me to get over something shitty. Something was missing. I couldn't tell you what it was, if you asked, but it was off. And if you think of a relationship as a living entity, I guess it's one thing if the missing two percent is like, a fingernail. But when it's the heart, that's a whole different ball of wax.

I haven't posted in here forever so I doubt that anyone is even still reading these but I got nostalgic for old times. My mommy came to visit me in Montana. I am (almost) the proud owner of a 2002 Subaru Forester! I sign the papers on friday and drive away happy. The interest on the loan is a bit higher than I would like, but I did it without a cosigner, and it's a 3 year term instead of 2 but I'll figure it out as I go along and see if I can't get them to drop it later on and pay extra in advance.
