R.I.P. Wendy Byrne

I am utterly shocked and saddened to hear about the death of Wendy Byrne. She was shot down in the French Quarter of New Orleans on Saturday night. Two youths are currently being questioned about her murder. Wendy was the bartender - that anyone who has followed my journal for long enough will remember, as working in Aunt Tiki's where I had one

So very senseless and shocking. I pray for her loved ones and all who will miss her. Take care.

As if the news wasn't shocking enough, she was due to marry and move to a new life. I've thought about this regularly since hearing the news and can't begin to imagine the suffering her fiance and family are going through right now.

We can only hope that justice is served on those responsible.

I only spent one evening with her but you could tell she was a truly generous and fun loving person. A true Quarter character. Friends have said that she would give anybody anything, so why they had to shoot her is so utterly senseless. I'm just hoping those responsible get everything coming to them.
