It means a lot for me to hear (read?) you say that I captured the struggle between family and your dreams because it's a difficult theme to grab. I'm most pleased that this works outside the context of the longer fic, because it really was meant to be a part of something -- and I'm not entirely sure that I won't re-incorporate it, actually.
