The delayed shigoto stuff that I was wingeing about in an earlier entry this week, did indeed, turn up late. I originally said I needed it for Monday. It was eventually agreed that I should get it no later than Wednesday. It actually arrived as I was logging out for the night at 9.25pm on Thursday. Friday, I spent rapidly coming to the conclusion that what had been delivered was somewhat broken. According to the gospel of the Goblin, this kind of thing simply doesn't happen, therefore, there is no need to concern oneself about it... By 9.25pm on Friday night I'd listed what was broken, and in the true tradition of doing it yerself if you want it to damn well work, was in the process of rewriting the damn thing. I might even end up doing some of that rewrite from home (though I am at last becoming pretty good at thouroughly separating shigoto from home life...)
My body has spent much of this week fighting off some nasty thats been doing the rounds. Something is trying to get in & wreak havoc, but my immune system has been instructed that I have no time to get ill until 2004 & seems to be following orders... I felt particulary crappy on Wednesday morning & partly lost my voice thru coughing on Thu. I just returned from a truely wonderful solid 13 hour kip, which has really helped me feel better about much in general.
The genki stupidity of LOTR3 night was just the boost that I needed to get thru the rest of the week! I thoroughly enjoyed Return of the King, though it did seem to be missing something that I can't quite put my finger on. I think part of it was simply that it's the end - no more to look forward to (unless Jackson manages to get his hairyness upon The Hobbit). The sheer mightyness of The 2 Towers was also going to be a tough act to follow, as that installment pretty much blew everyone who viewed it away. It could also have just been a reflection of the part of the story it sought to portray - where the main characters were distributed all over the place & a whole bunch of story strands had to somehow converge... The general consensus of review opinion I've seen so far, is that Jackson will clean up the Oscars with this one, not because it was the greater of the 3 movies, but because hollywood was going to wait until the trilogy was complete before handing out the just desserts. That Jackson was able to pull off Tolkien, after the wonders of
Bad Taste &
Meet the Feebles is still a wonder to me!

Oi! #2:
asmaria, how were you able to listen to those bi-llingual Pokamon eps on those tapes? I had thought that they would be simple Left channel=English & Right channel=Nihongo, but they don't seem to be separated enough to do that...
Now, onwards with further avoidance of xmas shopping & tidyupage of my own floor of doom in the den...
