I have wanted to purchase a purely electric car but am hesitant because of what happened to you. Cold weather reduces available battery time, and battery life plummets faster than you think. Plus, it takes so long for the battery to fully charge, making long trips harder. We have a hybrid now, and I like it, but it's not good enough because I'm still burning fossil fuel. But it's better than a full gas car.

When we finally live in one place and don't travel long distances as often, I might consider a fully electric car, especially if we settle in South Carolina. It's not quite so cold there. Maybe we'll have one hybrid and one fully electric car.

I relate to having sweets taunt me! Ray purchased some peppermint chocolate bark, and I'm going nuts trying to stay out of it. Damn, that stuff is addicting!

Dang! I like the idea of an electric car, but think I'll wait for the technology to improve first. I have friends with Teslas and many of them seem to tell the same story: "it seemed like a good idea at the time."

I am hesitant about getting a plug-in electric car, especially for how often our power goes out with wind storms here.

The situation with the Tesla sounds stressful! I'm glad you weren't stranded.

Congratulations on your husband's new job!
