I like the repetition of the old gas station image - it holds the piece together and gives it a liturgical quality--or almost like music, with a piece returning to the same theme but with variations. I also like how it goes from the odd but realistic image of the broken dolls to the fantasy of one-eyed beasts. Maybe try to find a substitute phrase for "eternal torment"? (Bit of a cliche, that)
