For me, it's more the idea that "you create your own reality" (which is basically just victim-blaming bullshit and self-congratulatory bullshit rolled up into huge jelly-roll of UGH) stuff combined with the "self-help advise" authors who don't do anything but restate their thesis over and over and over again, but never actually give their readers any useful advise or suggestions or coaching in terms of how to get from A to B.

It's pretty skeezy. :-P
