He bows his head, eyes fixed on the table. His hands fiddle with the napkin in his lap, twisting it this way and that, until another hand, calloused and rough, covers his. He dares a look through his bangs. There's a smile, uncertain and tentative, but a smile nonetheless. He breathes a sigh of relief.
He'd been afraid that the idea "ex's can still be friends" may not apply to them.
