The raised eyebrow wasn't very promising. They cringed slightly in their group, watching her apprehensively, noting that her arms were akimbo and her stance was firm. Well, the ear at the door probably wasn't very indicative of their innocence.
She smiled, not at all reassuringly, and they all despaired of seeing the light of day again.
