It was cold. Colder than she thought. It had never been this cold for her, out here, where she flew and felt wings on her feet. The chill dipped into her flesh, her bones, seeped into her clothes and clung to her. She swore she could feel icicles forming under her arms, its icy grip frosting over her skin.
She welcomed it. Welcomed the numbing effect, the washing of emotion. Here, everything was clear, defined, crystal. There was only one path, treacherous and slippery, gloriously beautiful. She grinned, and pushed off from the wall.
There was nothing but cold wind.
