We're Bold as Love
[Tiffany-centric]
like catching lightning; it's the chances of finding someone like you
[we were both young when I first saw you]
You walk into the room, excited, nervous, and jittery. She's the first one you see, because you recognize her. "American girl!" you call out happily. She looks at you with embarrassment. But you keep smiling at her. That's when you knew you were opposites.
---
[it's gonna be okay]
She's sobbing uncontrollably in your arms. You curse the world for being so cruel. If only the world knew how fragile she was. You grasp onto her tighter and whisper in her ear, "Just ignore those anti-fans." She clutches onto you tighter, quivering an answer, "We haven't even debuted yet." Your heart wrenches and your anger swells; you want to destroy those god forsaken pictures.
---
[thought you should know]
"Dude, do you know you like singing, and you don't even know it?" You yell at her, trying to get it through her thick head. She looks back at you, processing the fact that you've raised your voice at her. Then she slowly understands what you mean.
---
[your harmony to the melody]
You feel smug as you watch her shiver. "I think she's in love with me!" You shout out jokingly. She just blushes and smiles nervously. Little did you know how right you were. Or that you felt the same for her.
---
[don't be afraid]
"I didn't mean to... I didn't mean to!" you wail. Fists balled up, legs shaking, tears streaming; you're on the floor. She kneels next to you and pulls you close "I know," she whispers. The other members gather around and try to comfort you. But you still hate yourself for being blunt on the broadcast today. Because you know the anti-fans have just increased ten-fold.
---
[what you do so naturally]
You tense up as fingertips glide down your arm slowly, finding it's way to the destination. Something that has been done countless times with her, sometimes by choice, and sometimes by some unknown, magnetic force. "But when did it start to feel this way?" you ask.
---
[shouldn't love you, but I want to]
The knot in your stomach tightens as you watch her flirt with another member. She's smiling ear to ear, playing with someone that's not you. It doesn't help that your headache is banging from the loud fans gawking and all the stress accumulated.
---
[still alive, but barely breathing]
She stands behind you, teasing you with the lyrics of the song. You don't understand why, but you turn around and tell her "not now," in a harsh tone. She apologizes quickly and you just know she is pouting right now.
---
[getting hard to be around you]
She's finally realized your anger. She chases after you calling your name endlessly, "Fany!" But you keep walking, ticked off. She finally has caught up to you and reaches for your arm, but you shrug her off and quicken your pace.
---
[not the storm before the calm]
You've been avoiding her for days, still upset over her behavior. Angrily, you toss and turn in bed to face the wall as you bitterly think about how happy she looked with someone besides you. You can sense her presence as she creeps into your room, but you try to ignore it. Then you feel her light touch on your side. "Fany..." she whispers. You snap.
---
[don't run away]
You gasp as you realize the words you've just said. They were bitter and loud. They stabbed her heart and you know they will be unforgettable. "Jessi-" you start, but she's already out of the room, sobbing uncontrollably.
---
[we're going down]
This time, it's her turn to avoid you. You can't help, but sigh as you watch her get closer with the other members. But you know you deserve this treatment. Your jealousy and insecurities were too vast to control and it's all your fault.
---
[when you're close, I can't breathe]
You can't take it anymore. You force her into an empty room. You corner her into a wall, pinning her against it. She looks at you with fear. You do the only thing you can do because you cannot speak. You kiss her.
---
[always there just never spoken]
"What now?" you think as you pull back. She stares back at you and lifts her fingers up to graze against her own lips. "She hates me," you think, but then she pulls you forward for another kiss. As you part, she whispers, "I've always wanted those pink plump lips."
---
[a single voice, above the noise]
You're staring at her in a daze in the middle of the shoot. Suddenly, you hear her calling. "Fany-ah~" You snap out of your daze. She's holding her hands up in a heart shape. "Me?" you ask. She just gives you this goofy smile. You make a gesture to accept her heart and start to blush. She smiles, blushes, and turns back to look at the camera like a child who just opened her birthday presents.
---
[right here, right now]
"Open your hand." Unknowingly as to what is to come, you follow her command. You're speechless as she gives you the couple rings. You can't help, but stare at the two shiny rings that fit so well on your finger, the fourth finger on your left hand.
---
[take my hand]
Butterflies flutter into your stomach as you stand on that stage behind her and the girls in a line. You've grown accustomed to the stage with experience, yet you always feel anxiety seeping back into your body before every performance. You don't need to say anything; she's already opened her hands for you to grab them. And just like magic, you feel calmer as you hold those hands for a few seconds.
---
[as long as there is you and me]
You explain it to the listeners for the nth time. You wish they could just understand Jessica like the way you do. But truthfully, you're happy that you're the only one who can see this side of her. "What the? No, it's not what you think. I'm not in love with her," you deny to everyone. But Jessica knows the truth and that's all that matters.
---
[already proved it]
The way you express love for each other may be different, but what matters is that your hearts are one. She understands you as you are, like no one else can. Your love can be difficult, but it is real. Because you know that she is the only one for you.
---
[this moment was ours to own it]
Her hand lands on your thigh slowly; you know what she wants. You react quickly, but not surprised. You tap her hand twice and point to the menu in front of you. Then you lock eyes with her and laugh cheerfully. As the evening goes on, you whisper sweet nothings to each other, enjoying the celebration.
---
[do you want me to hide the feelings]
This is the moment. The moment that all nine of you have worked for. You've already let out tears of joy for the other awards, and you can feel them coming on again. She looks at you, with this goofy smile. You can't help, but smile back while fixing your hair. Suddenly, she fixes her own, puckers up, and leans forward. Your hands shoot up instinctively, but she's already landed on your cheek. You can't help, but blush.
---
[just so you know]
Standing in a straight line, all of your members and you hold hands. You and she both have this incredibly goofy grin on your faces since she just kissed your cheek. Eye-smiles showing, and happiness beaming from you both, she leans forwards again and whispers in your ear, "I love you." Your grin has just done the impossible; it grew wider.
---
[it's a love story, baby just say yes]
The song switches quickly; she grabs your hand and you both walk forward. With a huge smile on your face, you lean your head towards hers, and you tell the world, "Aha. Listen boys. Our first love story." It's times like these that you are glad you are able to freestyle intros. Because you can subtly express your love for her.
---
[it's gonna be okay]
Giddy, you run across that stage with her hand in yours. Nervousness and anxiety swells up in as you stand still, realizing you're in front of thousands of fans. You stand in the back with her behind the other members, hoping that no one can see your weaknesses. Lightly, she takes her index finger and traces it in a circular movement on your bare back. You immediately release the tension in your shoulders and smile. Because she is by your side.
---
[can I have this dance]
The others are already crying, some embracing one another. You make your way to her as you realize the tears of joy are going to spill again. She holds her arms out to you, knowing what you need right now. The tears begin to flow and she embraces you. You both twirl slowly, consumed in your own little world.
---
[bold as love]
She doesn't know the definition of subtle. It's not in her vocabulary. She mentions you whenever she has the chance to. She stares at you whenever she wants to. She strokes her fingers lightly over your body whenever she needs to. She's not afraid to show her love for you in front of everyone. But you're ashamed of yourself. Ashamed that you can't do the same for her in the eyes of everyone. Maybe that's why you shower her with unconditional love behind closed doors.
---
[looking at you]
It's the mornings that you love. No matter what the schedule was last night or is for the new day, you always wake up next to her. Every night, before she falls asleep, you whisper softly into her ear, "my heart loves the view." And she always rewards you with a kiss for it. Every day, before you get up to wake the others, you whisper tenderly into her ear, "I love you." And she loves waking up to it.
